A fatality collision occurred at approximately 10:32 a.m. on State Highway 33 & Pennsylvania Avenue, approximately 5 miles west of Guthrie in Logan County.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Mark Gellenbeck, 32, of Guthrie was driving a 2020 Ford F-250 westbound on State Highway 33. When Gellenbeck began reaching for something in the passenger seat, his vehicle went left of the center of the roadway and struck a 2015 Chevrolet Impala driven by Barbara Heflin, 79, of Crescent.
Heflin was pronounced dead at the scene by the Office of the Medical Examiner. Gellenbeck refused treatment at the scene. The condition of Gellenbeck is under investigation.
Air bags deployed in both vehicles, both drivers had seatbelts equipped and there were no passengers involved.
