The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 618 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, Feb. 18. Oklahoma’s seen 416,476 COVID-19 cases overall as 17,396 cases are active. The number of active cases is 1,204 less than Wednesday.
Twenty-three additional virus-related deaths were documented Thursday to put Oklahoma’s death toll to 4,112. This includes a Kay County male from Tonkawa in the 50-64 age group.
Kay County saw four new COVID-19 cases for Thursday, putting the county at 5,030 COVID-19 cases, 72 deaths and 4,757 recoveries. There are currently 201 active COVID-19 cases for Kay County, which is 16 less than Wednesday. Data for local Kay County communities is posted below:

OSDH is reporting more recoveries on Thursday rather than new COVID-19 cases as there are 2,013 new recoveries, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 393,169. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
There have been 620,746 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered in Oklahoma and that there are 173,423 completed series. The number of prime doses given is 447,323. There have also been 430,750 prime doses allocated and 291,500 boost doses allocated.

COVID-19 VACCINE UPDATE FOR KAY COUNTY:
Due to Sunday’s winter weather and more expected Tuesday night going into Wednesday, the Kay County Health Department made the announcement last week that all COVID vaccination PODs in Kay County Feb. 15-18, are cancelled.
Individuals who had appointments for those days will need to reschedule at vaccinate.oklahoma.gov when appointments are available.
The health department hopes to be able to provide clinics on Friday, Feb. 19th.
