The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 615 new positive COVID-19 cases for Tuesday, Aug. 18. While Oklahoma has seen 49,326 cases overall, 7,274 cases are active.
Seventeen additional virus-related deaths were reported on Tuesday, one of those being in Garfield County. Oklahoma’s death toll is now at 682. Garfield County also has 25 new COVIID-19 cases to put their stats to 642 cases, 9 deaths and 418 recoveries.
Kay County saw three new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday to put the stats to 270 cases, 11 deaths and 228 recoveries. As for the 31 active cases in Kay County, Ponca City has 20, Blackwell with six, three in Kaw City and two in Newkirk. There are no active cases in Tonkawa.
For new cases in other local counties, Payne County has 14, Osage County with nine, Washington County has six and Logan and Pawnee Counties both with two.
OSDH is also reporting 839 new recoveries to put Oklahoma’s recovery total to 41,370. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
