The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 2,224 new positive COVID-19 cases for Tuesday, Dec. 15. Oklahoma’s seen 241,991 COVID-19 cases overall as 33,009 cases are active.
A total of 14 virus-related deaths were documented Tuesday to put Oklahoma’s death toll to 2,086. One being a Garfield County female in the 50-64 age group.
Kay County saw an increase with 19 new COVID-19 cases, putting the county to 2,448 COVID-19 cases, 27 virus-related deaths and 2,029 recoveries. For new cases in Kay County communities, there are 12 for Ponca City, four for Blackwell, two for Newkirk and one for Tonkawa.

As for new cases in local counties, there are 41 for Payne, 34 for Washington, 27 for Garfield, 25 for Logan, 14 for Osage, 11 for Noble, 10 for Grant and eight for Pawnee

OSDH is also reporting 4,364 new recoveries on Tuesday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 206,896. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
As of Tuesday, health officials report that there have been 2,147,957 negative test results, 14,408 total hospitalizations and 1,741 Oklahomans currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
