Principal Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear of the Osage Nation has given an executive order to close the Osage Nation campus and all departments and programs Wednesday, June 3, to contain the possible spread of the COVID-19 virus.
According to Osage News, Standing Bear said he is meeting with his top staff in the morning to discuss a possible closure for the rest of the week while they work with Wahzhazhe Health Center staff to conduct contact tracing of the individuals who have tested positive within the last 24 hours. The closure comes after it was learned that multiple individuals tested positive for the COVID-19 virus within the Osage community and were at the Election Candidate Camps area on June 1 and also attended a local funeral.
If you think you might have been exposed to COVID-19, please self-quarantine and call the Wahzhazhe Health Center’s COVID-19 Hotline at (918) 287-0028 or text the COVID-19 Textline at (918) 697-1365.
