The Oklahoma State Department of Health documented 10,073 new COVID-19 cases since Friday. For each day, Saturday saw 3,271 new cases, Sunday with 3,068, Labor Day Monday with 1,685 and Tuesday with 2,049.
According to Tuesday’s situation report, Oklahoma’s seen an overall total of 570,923 new COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic as 22,368 cases are currently active. The new cases 7 day average is 2,709. The CDC provisional death count.
As of Wednesday, September 1, Kay County has seen 6,098 COVID-19 cases, 136 deaths and 5,739 recoveries. Therefor, Kay County has 223 active cases. For active cases in surrounding counties, Garfield has 256, Osage has 55, Pawnee has 134, Noble has 82 and Grant has 23. The county numbers will be updated later today, September 8.
If you’re needing to get tested for COVID-19, the Kay County Health Department has COVID-19 testing available by appointment only at the Ponca City clinic on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Make an appointment by calling 580-762-1641. COVID-19 testing is NOT available at the Blackwell clinic.
