OSDH reporting 395 new COVID-19 cases Friday

New COVID-19 numbers were released by the Oklahoma State Department of Health on Friday, June 26. There are 395 new COVID-19 cases as the total of reported cases since testing started is at 12,343. There are 3,526 active cases.

Locally, Payne County saw a big jump with 35 new COVID-19 cases, Kay and Washing counties both have three and Logan and Noble counties both have two. There are 18 active cases in the Ponca City area, and three in the Tonkawa area.

Two additional virus-related deaths were documented Friday, putting Oklahoma’s death toll at 377. None occurred since Thursday:

  • An Oklahoma County male in the 65 or older age group.
  • A McCurtain County male in the 50-64 age group.

New data also shows that 310 individuals in Oklahoma have recovered from COVID-19, putting the state’s recovery total at 8,817.

Health officials reported on Friday that there have been 298,434 negative specimens. Also, there have been 1,393 total hospitalizations, and 308 patients are currently hospitalized.
