OSDH reporting 501 new COVID-19 cases since Tuesday


The Oklahoma State Department of Health released a COVID-19 update for Wednesday, March 24. Since Tuesday, OSDH has documented 501 COVID-19 cases since Tuesday as Oklahoma has seen 436,135 COVID-19 cases overall.

Latest information shows that there are 10,906 active COVID-19 cases in the state. The provisional death count (CDC/NCHS) is 7,727.

The following is information from the OSDH Situation Report for March 24:

  • This week, 12 Oklahoma counties are in the “orange” risk level, 59 are in the “yellow” risk level, and six are in the “green” risk level for the COVID-19 Risk Level System. OSDH continues to monitor closely the statewide hospitalization trends for COVID-19.
  • Moving forward, the COVID-19 Risk Level System will be updated every Wednesday in the Situation Update at 11:00 a.m. This week’s map can be seen in this update below the test results chart.
  • As OSDH continues to meet with stakeholders across the state, the COVID-19 Alert Map is subject to further revisions as science and public health guidance advances with the ongoing pandemic.

The latest risk map from Tuesday shows Kay County in the orange.

Overall, Kay County has seen 5,209 COVID-19 cases, 85 deaths and 4,989 recoveries. There are currently 135 active COVID-19 cases in the County. Data for local communities is posted below:

Blackwell – 665 cases/19 deaths/621 recoveries

Newkirk – 431 cases/3 death/415 recoveries

Tonkawa – 362 cases/15 deaths/341 recoveries

Kaw City – 63 cases/3 deaths/60 recoveries

Braman – 23 cases/1 death/21 recoveries

As of Tuesday, there have been 1,682,785 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered in Oklahoma and that there are 504,369 completed series. The number of prime doses given is 918,965.
