The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 771 new positive COVID-19 cases for Thursday, Sept. 10. Oklahoma has seen an overall total of 66,700 COVID-19 cases, and 9,293 cases are active.
In addition to the new COVID-19 cases across Oklahoma, OSDH is also reporting 13 new virus-related deaths to put the state’s death toll to 876. Two of those were in Garfield County where the individuals were both women in the 65 or older group. Garfield County also has 21 new COVID-19 cases to put their overall stats to 1,227 cases, 16 deaths and 910 recoveries.
Kay County saw an increase with three new COVID-19 cases, putting the county’s stats to 386 cases, 12 deaths and 292 recoveries. As for active cases in the county, 66 are in Ponca City, seven in Blackwell, four in Newkirk and three in Tonkawa. There are no active cases in Kaw City.
Payne County continues to see an increase with 26 new COVID-19 cases to put their stats to 1,621 cases, 5 deaths and 1,142 recoveries. Stillwater ranks seventh in the state of Oklahoma for the most COVID-19 cases. Stillwater has seen 1,330 cases, 3 deaths and 996 recoveries.
For new cases in other local counties, there are six in Washington County, four for Logan County, two each for Noble and Osage counties and one for Pawnee County.
For the third day in a row, the number of new recoveries outweighed the number of new cases as 1,126 new recoveries were reported by OSDH on Thursday. Oklahoma has seen 56,531 recoveries. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
Officials also report that as of Thursday, 895,010 test results have returned negative. There have been 5,318 total hospitalizations as 513 people are currently hospitalized.
