OSDH reporting over 8,000 COVID-19 cases over the weekend


The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 8,315 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend. Oklahoma has seen 237,668 COVID-19 cases overall as 35,092 cases are active.

A total of 57 virus-related deaths have been reported since Friday to put Oklahoma’s death toll to 2,064. Three have been for Garfield County.

Kay County has seen 125 new COVID-19 cases since Friday, putting the stats to 2,413 CCOVID-19 cases, 27 virus-related deaths and 1,975 recoveries. Posted below is the latest data as of Sunday for Kay County communities.


Ponca City – 1,775 cases/14 deaths/1,455 recoveries

Blackwell – 288 cases/4 deaths/220 recoveries

Newkirk – 205 cases/1 death/172 recoveries

Tonkawa – 163 cases/6 deaths/132 recoveries

Kaw City – 35 cases/1 death/32 recoveries

Braman – 8 cases/0 deaths/7 recoveries


For new cases in local counties since Friday, there are 156 for Garfield, 149 for Payne, 102 for Logan, 101, for Washington, 83 for Osage, 47 for Noble, 34 for Pawnee and 27 for Grant.


Payne County – 4,992 cases/24 deaths/4,362 recoveries

Garfield County – 4,627 cases/40 deaths/4,003 recoveries

Washington County – 2,471 cases/51 deaths/2,100 recoveries

Kay County – 2,413 cases/27 deaths/1,975 recoveries

Osage County – 2,403 cases/21 deaths/2,061 recoveries

Logan County – 2,010 cases/5 deaths/1,601 recoveries

Pawnee County – 770 cases/9 deaths/620 recoveries

Noble County – 759 cases/5 deaths/581 recoveries

Grant County – 280 cases/5 deaths/224 recoveries


OSDH has reported 4,869 new recoveries since Friday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 200,512. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

As of Friday, health officials report that there have been 2,091,366 negative test results, 13,969 total hospitalizations and 1,730 Oklahomans currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
