The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,991 new positive COVID-19 cases over the weekend for Oct. 18-19. Oklahoma has seen an overall total of 107,299 COVID-19 cases as 14,485 are active as of Sunday.
An additional 17 virus-related deaths were documented since Friday, putting Oklahoma’s death toll to 1,171. This includes a 10th virus-related death for Payne County.
There are 10 new COVIID-19 cases for Kay County since Friday, putting the county to 792 cases, 15 deaths and 689 recoveries. As for active cases in the county, there are 62 for Ponca City, 11 for Newkirk, 10 for Blackwell and five for Tonkawa.
As for new cases in local counties over the weekend, there are 48 for Garfield, 38 for Osage, 27 for Payne, 21 for Washington, eight each for Logan and Pawnee and one for Noble.

OSDH is also reporting 1,828 new recoveries since Friday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 91,643. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
Officials report that as of Friday, there have been 1,312,840 total negative specimen, 7,679 total hospitalizations and 793 patients are currently hospitalized.
