Over 2,000 new COVID-19 cases for Oklahoma on Wednesday


The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 2,101 new positive COVID-19 cases for Thursday, Nov. 5. Oklahoma’s seen 129,873 COVID-19 cases overall as 16,765 cases are active.

An additional 21 virus-related deaths were documented Thursday to bring Oklahoma’s death toll to 1,413. Four of those deaths were local. This includes a Garfield County female in the 50-64 age group, an Osage County male in the 65 or older age group, a Payne County female in the 50-64 age group and a Washington County male in the 65 or older age group.

Kay County is reporting 20 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday to put the stats at 984 cases, 16 deaths and 833 recoveries. As for active cases in the county, there are 72 for Ponca City, 28 for Blackwell, 18 for Newkirk, 15 for Tonkawa and one for Kaw City.

As for new cases in local counties, there are 45 for Payne, 29 for Garfield, 22 for Osage, 17 for Washington, eight for Pawnee, six for Logan, five for Grant and two for Noble.


Payne County – 3,042 cases/15 deaths/2,754 recoveries

Garfield County – 2,628 cases/30 deaths/2,301 recoveries

Osage County – 1,477 cases/16 deaths/1,347 recoveries

Washington County – 1,439 cases/43 deaths/1,271 recoveries

Kay County – 984 cases/16 deaths/833 recoveries

Logan County – 934 cases/2 deaths/821 recoveries

Pawnee County – 364 cases/5 deaths/321 recoveries

Noble County – 230 cases/3 deaths/167 recoveries

Grant County – 126 cases/2 deaths/97 recoveries


OSDH is also reporting 1,242 new recoveries on Thursday to put Oklahoma’s recovery total to 111,695. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

As of Wednesday, health officials report that 1,543,684 test results returned negative, there have been 9,338 hospitalizations and 1,055 patients currently hospitalized.
