A Sunday morning accident in Payne County has sent five people to the hospital, three in critical condition. The accident occurred at 12:30 a.m. and involved one vehicle just West of Yale. 26 year old Cody Dale Masters of Cushing was driving when the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and struck a tree. Masters was taken to the St John hospital in Tulsa and listed in critical condition. A passenger 20 year old Kelvin Jon Fechner Jr. of Cushing is also in critical condition at St. Johns and one juvenile passenger identified as a 14 year old female is in critical condition. 23 year old Robert Shea Watson of Cushing is in stable condition at the Cushing hospital and a 12 year old female is in stable condition. The OHP report lists unsafe speed as a factor in the accident.
