The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 650 new positive COVID-19 cases for Tuesday, Aug. 25. Oklahoma has seen an overall total of 54,172 COVID-19 cases, and 7,912 cases are active.
Fourteen additional virus related deaths were reported for Tuesday, putting Oklahoma’s death toll to 744. One of those deaths being a Payne County female in the 65 or older group. Payne County also has 15 new COVID-19 cases to put their overall total to 950 cases, 5 deaths and 779 cases.
Kay County saw an additional three new COVID-19 cases. Kay County has now seen 291 cases, 11 deaths and 245 recoveries. Out of the 35 active cases in the county, 29 are in Ponca City, three in Blackwell, two in Newkirk and one in Kaw City.
As for new cases for other local counties, there are 29 for Garfield County, three for Logan County, two for both Osage and Washington counties and one for Grant County.
OSDH reports that 856 more Oklahomans have recovered from COVID-19 as of Monday, putting the statewide recovery total to 45,516. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
