Kimberly Kay Turnham has been charged with embezzlement in Payne County District Court. According to the charges, Turnham had embezzled over $600,000 from High Country Utilities Inc. over a seven-year period. She faces up to 10-years in prison and a maximum $10,000 fine if convicted.
Turnham posted a $10,000 bond and will return to court April 2. Payne County Sheriff’s said the companies President and vice president reported they had discovered unauthorized credit card statements on the company card issued to Turnham. When confronted by the investigator about illegal use of company funds, Turnham allegedly replied, “It’s exactly what it is.” Once she spoke with her attorney, she ceased cooperating with the investigation.
