The Perry Chamber of Commerce is seeking a talented, passionate, leader to serve in the role of Chief Executive Officer.

The mission of the Perry Chamber is to support, advocate and provide networking opportunities for individuals and businesses in the communities we serve. The city of Perry is the largest town in Noble County. Perry is centrally located off I-35, 60 miles north of Oklahoma City, 83 miles west of Tulsa and 100 miles south of Wichita. The city population is about 5,000.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Full Time

The CEO of the Perry Chamber of Commerce serves as the face of the Chamber, acting as a community leader, business advocate and ambassador. The CEO collaborates with other business and civic organizations to improve the business climate for Chamber members of local and surrounding businesses. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is the Chamber’s chief staff officer, leading the organization to fulfill its vision, mission and objectives. The ideal candidate is a proven leader and visionary who can promote cooperation, collaboration and partnerships. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, strategic thinker who will quickly and effectively respond to challenges and provide creative solutions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Chamber; responsible for strategic planning, finances, membership engagement and retention, hiring and supervision of staff and volunteers.
• Cultivate funds through member investments, events and programs, sponsorships and advertising to ensure programs and events are sustainable and continue to grow.
• Participate in community initiatives as well as regional events as needed.
• Promote and oversee strategic relationships with elected officials, nonprofits, educational and community leaders, and businesses.
• Attend all meetings of the Board; may attend all other Chamber committee meetings as well
• Ensure monthly reports are provided to the Board on the status of operations of the Chamber and various committees of the Chamber.
• Provide quarterly reports to the City Manager and attend City Council, and other governmental bodies as appropriate, when issues important to the Chamber are being discussed.
• Oversee all official correspondence and publicity for the Chamber.
• Serve as Chamber representative on local boards, committees and organizations as required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Management experience in public sector or not-for-profit organizations.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in soliciting and securing sponsorship dollars from investors.
• Comfortable speaking in front of large groups of people, including monthly board meetings, organizations and conferences.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend events.
• A current resident of Perry or a candidate willing to relocate, is preferred.
