Ponca City, OK – The Ponca City Main Street (PCMS) has partnered with Ponca City Development Authority (PCDA) and My-Media Matters to create a convenient and safe way for Ponca City (and beyond) to shop locally at the Ponca City Marketplace. This interactive retail portal operates like Amazon, Etsy or eBay with all the products listed, sold, or rented, by locally owned stores in Ponca City. You can now shop multiple stores in Ponca City from the comfort of your own home!
“We could not do this type of program without the strong partnerships which exist between PCMS and business here in Ponca City*” stated Chelsea McConnell, Ponca City Main Street Director. “My-Media Matters, a local media company owned by Kelsey Wagner, brings the website and e-commerce experience needed for Main Street businesses to participate in an online marketplace. And none of this would be possible without support from PCDA and their promotion of local industry and entrepreneurs.”
“Small business is the backbone of industry here in Ponca City. PCDA, as an economic development trust of the City of Ponca City, saw the development of this online marketplace as a lifeline for small business in this time of COVID,” said Lori Henderson, Director of Operations for PCDA. “People are shopping online in unprecedented numbers. This e-commerce marketplace gives locally owned Ponca City Main Street retailers a way to participate safely and grow their online customer base.”
This is a brand new concept for Ponca City Main Street and this marketplace is currently available to all downtown businesses in Ponca City*. McConnell hopes to be able to add other businesses and shops all over Ponca City in 2021. New stores and new products are being added often, so be sure to keep checking back at www.PoncaCityMarketplace.com.
