One Ponca City man was involved in a collision on Lake Texoma in Marshall County around 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
According to The Duncan Banner and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the collision happened between Wood Island and Sanders Island View area.
Clifford Eugene Hines, 67, was driving a 1999 Falcon Striper boat with two passengers, Devered Dee Hines, 80, from Cordell and Waynes Hines, 62, of Duncan.
OHP reports that the boat was travelling southeast when a steering malfunction occurred, causing the boat to make a sharp left turn and eject all three passengers. The boat began circling the individuals and hit all three.
The driver, Clifford, was rescued by witnesses in another vessel. Both passengers were recovered by Enos Fire Department.
Devered Dee Hines was pronounced dead due to head injuries. Eddie Wayne Hines was pronounced dead due to trunk-external, leg arm and head injuries. Both bodies were sent to Watt’s Funeral Home in Madill.
Clifford Eugene Hines was sent to Alliance Health in Durant with a head injury and was treated and released.
