Grand Ave.This is the first year that the district has initiated an online registration process for all students, which allows parents to register their students from their home computer or laptop and reduces paperwork. All students must be registered through a Parent Portal account in PowerSchool, which is the district’s student information systemThe first step in the registration process-the parent/guardian must create a Parent Portal account in PowerSchool.Once the parent has created the account, their student(s) can be added to the account by entering the unique Access ID and Access Password for each student registering for the 2016-2017 school year.The Access ID/Password for students can be obtained from the Registration Center once photo ID of the parent/guardian is presented.Instructions for creating a Parent Portal account are included on the Access ID/Password letter. Parent/guardians will complete the required online School Registration documents for each student in the Parent Portal account.The PowerSchool Parent Portal account can be accessed from the homepage of the district website, www.pcps.us and selecting PowerSchool under Quick Links.Registration cannot be completed using the Android or Apple app, iPhone, iPad, Android or similar device.The Parent Portal is designed to work with Chrome or Firefox as the browser. It is not compatible with Internet Explorer.The Registration Center has computers available for parents who do not have access to a computer.Limited staff will be on site to assist.Parents of elementary students are reminded that proof of residence is required.Please refer to the registration information on the district website for acceptable documents.Proof of residence is not required for students in grades 6-12.Immunization records for students entering kindergarten or seventh grade must be presented due to additional immunizations required for those grade levels. The registration will not be complete until all required documentation is presented.Parent/guardians will have access to their student’s grades, attendance and schedules through their Parent Portal account.
