This scam involves someone calling and identifying themselves with Publishers Clearing House. The caller will ask the victim to withdraw $1000 from their bank account, purchase a cashier’s check and mail it to a PO Box in Nevada. They would then receive their money.According to Ponca City Lieutenant Jason Filtz, you are not going to win a contest you did not enter and if the contest is legitimate, they will not ask you to pre-pay. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If you have any questions about this scam contact the Ponca City Police.
