Ponca City Superintendent Finalist for New Job

Ponca City School Superintendent Dr. David Pennington is one of five finalists for the superintendent’s job in Rogers, Arkansas. Dr. Pennington has been with the Ponca City district since 2004.  Rogers, Arkansas board president Kristen Cobbs said they hoped to name a superintendent by mid April.  The Rogers, Arkansas district is replacing Janie Darr who is retiring after 17 years.  The five finals are Pennington, who also served the Blackwell and Bristow districts,  Dr. Marlin Berry, superintendent of the Olathe, Kansas district, Dr. William Gronseth, superintendent of the Duluth, Minnesota district, Alexa Cunningham who oversees a district of high schools in Phoenix, Arizona and Roger Hill who is the only internal candidate for the position.  Hill is an assistant superintendent for the Rogers school district and has been with the school district since 1996.
