Recent Rains Bring Significant Drought Relief To Oklahoma

With more rain in the forecast this weekend, official say it’s no surprise to see significant improvement to the Oklahoma drought in the last week. The most noticeable change was the removal of the moderate drought level rating for northwestern Oklahoma and the removal of the severe drought assessment in eastern Oklahoma. Currently, the highest drought level in Oklahoma is a rating of moderate drought across the eastern part of the state.

We’re expecting more rain this weekend – more good news for the drought, but potentially heavy rains could also bring the threat of flash flooding.
