Red Flag Warning For Northern Oklahoma Saturday

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Red Flag Warning remains in effect for areas of northern Oklahoma until 7 p.m. this evening for low humidity and windy conditions.

The counties included are Kay, Grant, Harper, Woods, Alfalfa, Ellis, Major, Woodward, Garfield, Noble, Roger Mills, Dewey, Custer, Beckham and Washita counties. NWS in Tulsa also has Osage, Pawnee, Washington and Nowata counties under a Red Flag Warning until 7 p.m.

Winds up to 30 mph are likely with gusts up to 45 mph. Humidity will be as low as 15 to 20 percent. Temperatures will be in the 60s across the area.

If fires start, they will spread rapidly. AVOID BURNING TODAY.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures will contribute to extreme fire behavior.
