Three new virus-related deaths for Kay County, 1,986 new COVID-19 cases statewide

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,986 new COVID-19 cases for Wednesday, putting Oklahoma’s overall total of cases to 360,360. There are 34,035 COVID-19 cases that are active, which is more than 2,000 less than the active amount on Tuesday.

48 virus-related deaths were documented by OSDH on Wednesday to put Oklahoma’s death toll to 3,085. Kay County saw three new deaths that were one female and two males all in the 65 or older age group. Two of which were Blackwell residents with the other death being for a Tonkawa resident. Other local deaths include two males in Garfield County in the 50-64 age group and the 65 or older age group, an Osage County female in the 65 or older age group and a Payne County male in the 65 or older age group.

Kay County saw an increase with 41 new COVID-19 cases, putting the county at 4,338 cases, 51 deaths and 3,816 recoveries. Data for Kay County communities is posted below:

As for new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday in local counties, there are 29 for Payne, 23 for Osage, 17 for Garfield, 16 for Logan, 14 for Washington, 10 for Noble, seven for Pawnee and two for Grant. Data for local counties is posted below:

Noble County – 1,175 cases/8 deaths/1,053 recoveries

Grant County – 459 cases/5 deaths/424 recoveries

 

OSDH is also reporting 4,039 recoveries on Tuesday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 323,240. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

The latest report shows there have been 197,820 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered in Oklahoma and that there are 28,409 completed series. The number of prime doses given is 169,411. There have also been 267,400 prime doses allocated and 42,900 boost doses allocated.

Health officials report that as of Friday, there have been 2,642,075 total negative test results, 20,295 hospitalizations and 1,776 people currently hospitalized due to COVID-19. There are 474 patients in ICU.
