In an accident still under investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s Traffic Homicide unit, a 2010 Chevy Impala driven by Tyler Ryba of Clencoe ran into a vehicle going in the opposite direction 2 miles east of Perkins.
Ryba was transported by helicopter to an Oklahoma trauma center in stable condition.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 2014 Chevy Sonic, Karen Nelson of Stillwater, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical professionals. The manner and cause of the death is to be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
