A fatality collision occurred New Years day near Goltry. A Dodge Ram driven by Timothy Leierer of Cleo Springs failed to yield at a railroad crossing and was struck by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe train. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to massive injures from the wreck. The engineer from Garber and conductor from Amarillo were not injured in the fatal crash. Seat belts were not in use.
