Two injured in accident northwest of Wakita on Wednesday

A personal injury collision occurred at 3:05 p.m. Wednesday afternoon on County Road Logan, about 7 miles northwest of Wakita in Grant County.

Diana Jane Solorio, 67, of Wakita was driving a 2008 Ford eastbound on County Road Logan and rear-ended a 1996 Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by Rodney C. Conrady, 61, of Wakita that was also heading eastbound.

The Ford Ranger then departed the roadway to the left and came to rest in the north ditch. The Ford Expidition continued straight for approximately 37 feet, coming to rest in the roadway.

Both Solorio and Conrady were transported by Miller EMS to St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Enid. Solorio was later transported by LIFE EMS of Enid, to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Solorio was admitted for head and trunk internal injuries.  Listed in stable condition. As for Conrady, he was treated for head injury and released from Enid.

None of the drivers had passengers with them.

The cause of the accident was listed as inattention.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Carter Mathews #779 of the Garfield County Detachment of Troop J, assisted by Trooper Matt Wilczek #744 of the Major County Detachment of Troop J, and the Grant County Sheriff’s Department and Miller EMS.
