Two Tonkawa Teens Injured in Early Sunday Crash


The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says that two teens from Tonkawa were traveling on State Highway 15, just 3/10 of a mile east of CR130, in Noble County this morning in a 2000 Plymouth Neon when the driver, a 17 year old juvenile lost control of the vehicle and it departed the roadway and hit a concrete culvert.

The accident was reported at about 3:30 this morning just 3.2 miles west of Red Rock. The 17 year old driver, who has not been identified, was transported by Mediflight to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and was admitted in fair condition with head and trunk internal injuries.

A passenger in the vehicle, 19 year old Paul Christian Jeffrey Slavens, was transported by Perry ambulance to Stillwater Medical Center where he was admitted in good condition with arm, head, leg, trunk internal and trunk external injuries.

The OHP report indicates that the driver may have fallen asleep. Neither teen was wearing a seatbelt.
