A personal injury collision happened at 5:16 a.m. Friday morning on I-35 southbound at milemarker 211, the U.S. 60 exit west of Tonkawa.
Jeffrey Pappan II, 26, of Wichita, Ks. was driving northbound in the southbound lane of I-35. In an attempt to avoid a collision, a Red 2019 Freightliner driven by Phillip Peterson, 45, of Wichita, Ks. that was travelling southbound swerved left. Pappan then hit Peterson head on.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol found Pappan to be driving under the influence of alcohol, while Peterson was in normal condition.
Pappan was then transported to Wichita, Ks. by Blackwell EMS. He was admitted in good condition with head, trunk internal, trunk external and arm injuries. Peterson suffered no injuries
