An Atlanta woman was transported to a Wichita hospital Wednesday afternoon following a two-vehicle accident east of Winfield at U.S. 160 and 211th Road — known locally as “Bolack Corner.”
Cowley County Sheriff Dave Falletti told KSOK Thursday the accident happened when one car turning north on 211th Road was struck by another car that was traveling westbound on U.S. 160.
Three other individuals from Texas were also injured and transported to William Newton Hospital in Winfield.
Faletti said traffic near the accident scene was disrupted for 45 minutes to an hour.
The identities and condition of the victims, including the Atlanta woman who was transported to Wichita via ambulance, have not yet been released.
The Cowley County Sheriff’s Office was aided at the scene by emergency departments from Winfield, Atlanta and Burden.
