Personal Injury collision occurred 12/16/2016 at approximately 06:55 hours 100 yards west of the intersection of State Highway 11 & Q street, located approximate 3 miles east from Blackwell, OK located in Kay County.
Vehicle-1: 2002 Ford Ranger Pickup driven by William Beard, white male age 62, of Ponca City, OK. Transported to Blackwell Regional Medical Center in Blackwell, OK, then transport to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS where he was admitted in critical condition for head, trunk internal, and leg injuries.
What Happened: Vehicle-1 was westbound on State Highway 11. Vehicle-1 swerved to the left to avoid contacting an eastbound vehicle that was turning north. Vehicle-1 departed the roadway to the south and rolled 2 full times coming to rest on its wheels. Driver was pinned for approximately 20 mins before being extracted by Blackwell Fire Department by use of the Hurst tools.
