More Job Cuts By ConocoPhillips

SHARE NOW

A decline in the energy industry and dropping commodity prices are being listed as the reason for a recent reduction in workforce at ConocoPhillips. That announcement from the Houston, Texas headquarters has people in the region asking questions, but for most, its business as usual. So far.

No announcements have been made concerning cuts, if any, at the Bartlesville facility. Several have transferred there from Ponca City. ConocoPhillips Bartlesville employs around 1,400.

The layoffs will take the jobs of around 900 employees, or roughly six percent of the global workforce.

Last fall the company laid off 10 percent of its global workforce, around 1,800 job cuts worldwide and 170 in Bartlesville.
