Kildare Fire Department Fundraiser Coming Up (audio)

The Kildare Volunteer Fire Department will host their third annual fish fry Saturday at 6 p.m. at the fire station. Fire Chief Travis Harris says the meal not only serves the public, but is a very important funding source:

Harris says money raised will go toward conversion of an ex-military truck to a heavy brush truck, which carries more water to fight large wildland fires.

The department and its’ firefighters are selling tickets for a chance to win an AR-15. Those tickets are $5 each, or five for $20. They can be bought at the fish fry, from any Kildare firefighter, or at the department’s annual meeting in November.

The fish fry costs whatever you choose to donate. The menu features fish and chicken, beans, coleslaw, hush puppies and a drink.

The fire station is located at Church Street and 11th. Contact Chief Harris at 580-763-7203 if you need to know more!
