Voter registration should be on your mind, if you’re planning to vote in the November General Election.
October 14th is the last day you may apply. You must be a United States citizen, a resident of Oklahoma, and at least 18 years of age. If you fit that criteria, you may apply by filling out and mailing an Oklahoma Voter Registration Application form. It must be postmarked no later than midnight Friday, October 14th.
The Election Board will respond in one of two ways. You will receive a voter identification card listing your precinct number and polling place location if you are approved. If your application is rejected, you will receive a letter that explains the reason or reasons.
If you have applied, but not received a response within 30 days, make sure to contact the Election Board.
Oklahoma Voter Registration Application forms are available in the Kay County courthouse in Newkirk on the bottom floor. Applications also are available at www.elections.ok.gov, and voters can check their registration status at https://www.ok.gov/elections/Voter_Info/Online_Voter_Tool/.
