A new crude-oil pipeline will bring Oklahoma oil to Arkansas.

State regulators in Arkansas have approved plans for the $900 million pipeline to cross five waterways in the state.

The Arkansas Public Service Commission approved the request from Diamond Pipeline LLC. They plan to build a 440-mile pipeline that will move oil from Cushing, Oklahoma, to a Valero refinery in Memphis, Tennessee.

The PSC considered the pipeline’s request to cross five waterways in Arkansas: the Arkansas and Mississippi rivers, Spradra Creek and Big Piney and Little Piney creeks. Construction of the pipeline is set to begin this year and finish in 2017.
